OPPO phones come with a free app called Clone Phone. From another Android phone it can copy contacts, messages, photos, apps and more. From an iPhone it copies your contacts, calendar, photos and videos.
Before you start
- Your old phone needs Clone Phone too. On an Android phone, download OPPO Clone Phone from the Google Play Store, or scan the square barcode (QR code) your new OPPO shows you. An old OPPO, OnePlus or realme phone already has it.
- Your new OPPO may offer Clone Phone while you set it up. That is the easiest time to do it.
- Charge both phones, or keep them plugged in the whole time.
- Be on your home Wi-Fi. Have your Wi-Fi password ready (it is often on the back of your router).
- Know your passwords: the code that unlocks your old phone, and your Apple Account or Google Account password.
- Keep your old phone. Don't reset it or hand it in until you have checked everything is on the new one.
- Give yourself time. Allow about an hour. Moving lots of photos can take longer.
From another Android phone
- On the new OPPO, open Clone Phone. If you can't find it, type Clone Phone into the search at the top of Settings.
- Tap This is the new device, then choose what your old phone is (for example Other Android). A square barcode (QR code) appears.
- On the old phone, open Clone Phone and tap This is the old device.
- Use the old phone to scan the QR code on the new OPPO. The two phones connect to each other directly, so it doesn't use your mobile data.
- Tick what you want to copy, then tap Migrate (it may say Start).
- Keep both phones close together and plugged in until it says it has finished.
From an iPhone
- On the iPhone, it helps to turn on Contacts and Photos in iCloud first: Settings › your name › iCloud.
- On the new OPPO, open Clone Phone, tap This is the new device, then choose iPhone (it may say Import data from an iPhone).
- A square barcode (QR code) appears. Scan it with the iPhone's camera to download Clone Phone onto the iPhone.
- On the iPhone, open Clone Phone, tap This is the old phone and scan the QR code again. Tap Join if asked.
- Tick what you want to copy, then tap Migrate. Wait until it finishes, then tap Done.
- On older OPPO phones, Clone Phone asks you to sign in to iCloud instead. Type your Apple Account email and password, then the code that appears on your iPhone.
When it has finished
- Check your contacts, photos and messages on the new OPPO.
- Coming from an iPhone? Turn off iMessage on the iPhone so you don't miss text messages: Settings › Apps › Messages (older iPhones: Settings › Messages) and switch iMessage off. See our iPhone to Android guide.
- WhatsApp chats need their own step. See our WhatsApp guide.
- Apps from an iPhone don't copy across. Download them again from the Play Store.
